Jingyao Jiang
Intern
Jingyao is a Grade 11 student at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School and is excited to be an intern for EMGirls for the 26-27 year. After joining the EMGirls mentorship last year, she is motivated by other ambitious young girls and this enthusiastic team, where everyone can share their own unique ideas. She joined this team because she believes that empowerment becomes meaningful when we turn our ideals into actions. As a high school student who is deeply passionate about business, computer science, sustainability and female empowerment. Her interest in these diverse fields has always been driven by a simple question: how can I use what I learn to create something that matters? That question led her to build EcoSense, an app helps young people make greener, smarter, and more informed choices. It also inspired her to start building her own personal blog around Girl in FinTech, where she shares her journey in business, technology, financial literacy, and sustainability to make these fields feel more accessible to other young girls. Outside of school, you’ll probably find her playing the piano, travelling, or filming vlogs that capture the little moments of her journey. Jingyao loves learning by creating, whether that means designing an app, exploring a new idea, or turning an experience into a story. This year, she's most excited to learn from and grow alongside ambitious girls who are not afraid to dream bigger. She hopes to contribute her own ideas and experiences, build meaningful connections, and leave EMGirls not only with new knowledge, but with the courage to turn our ideas into action-and empower others to do the same.
