Our Alumni’s

“I initially joined EMGV as a mentee in 2020, which turned out to be one of the most fulfilling and influential experiences I’ve had through a non-profit. I was able to learn from an experienced mentor that showed me the ins and outs of the business sector that have followed me throughout my life, from applying to university to landing my first internship. From there, I joined the executive team as Director of Plenary where I was able to create, plan and lead numerous events for mentees and mentors. After my term I joined the advisory board and was able to provide advice to the executive team. Throughout my time with EMGV I genuinely loved being able to help build and foster the bridge between young females and the business sector, from creating events to ameliorate our mentorship program or leading panels to spreading meaningful information to bright females. My time with EMGV was impressionable, setting me up with vital knowledge that I will continue to use in the beginning of my career”

— Sophia Nguyen | 2021-2022 Plenary Director

I joined EMGirls because I believe in creating spaces where young women can confidently pursue their ambitions and feel supported every step of the way. Through this role, I gained invaluable leadership and collaboration skills while connecting with a passionate and inspiring community. The experience not only allowed me to contribute to meaningful initiatives but also reinforced the importance of fostering inclusivity and resilience in everything I do.”

“I joined EMGirls in 2021 as an intern to gain more experience and knowledge in the entrepreneurship field. In doing so, I’ve gained many meaningful connections - alumni, friends, mentors, and the opportunity to work with the community. My role in the organization has helped me recognize the importance of working together, improved my leadership skills, and developed my communication skills. Nonetheless, EMGirls has acted as a catalyst for like-minded youth, propelling them towards success.”

“I joined EMGirls in grade 12 to gain hands on experience and explore my interest in business. During my time in the organization, I was able to make meaningful connections with mentors and meet like minded students.”

— Carmen Zeng | 2022-2023 Public Relations Director

“EMGirls provided an environment where I can be inspired by female business professionals and fellow high school students striving for a common goal—to cultivate leadership skills and embrace opportunities in supporting one another. Joining EMGirls allowed me to develop skills in networking, menteeship, and collaboration that has been fundamental as a current university student. I am excited to see future students experience a similar transformative journey that EMGirls offered me!”
